Delta PDP protest over alleged leadership imposition
Warri - Ahead of the May 21 national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members of party from Delta State have protested against alleged imposition of candidates.
The aggrieved members, who are mainly from Sapele on Tuesday stormed the party’s state secretariat to protest the imposition.
The protesters, who were led by Ejaife Odebala chanted solidarity songs and carried placards.
Some of messages on the placards read: “We hate impositions, PDP congress must be free and fair, “It will be set back if we go back to imposition”.
The state party chairman, Edwin Uzor while addressing them thanked the protesters for conducting themselves in peaceful manners during the protest.
He assured them that their grievances would be looked into to ensure unity of purpose in the affairs of the party.
