Analyst alleges ploy to eliminate Kanu
Abuja - An analyst has alleged the accusation by the Directorate of State Services (DSS) that members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were behind the killings of Hausa-Fulani natives in Abia State was a ploy to incriminate detained Biafra activist, Nnamdi Kanu.
This past weekend, DSS announced it had uncovered role played by members of the IPOB in the abduction of five Hausa-Fulani residents, who were later found buried in shallow graves at the Umuanyi forest.
Analyst Jude Ndukwe doubted the authenticity of the DSS’ claims considering the service’s controversies in recent times.
He claimed this was a ploy by DSS to justify the continued detention of Kanu.

“Contrast this controversies) to the purported five corpses of Fulani natives said to have been discovered in Abia State and the venom with which the DSS spoke on that episode, and one might not be wrong to conclude that the security agency is dangerously playing an ethnic card and desperately fishing for crimes with which to hang on Nnnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader and ultimately destroy him,” Ndukwe said.
DSS arrested Kanu in Lagos last October.
He has been charged with "criminal conspiracy, intimidation and membership of an illegal organisation.”
DSS has violated court orders to release the Biafra activist.
Ndukwe argued the DSS had been selectively applying the law.
“The Fulani herdsmen have been traversing the length and breadth of this country under the guise of cattle grazing while they unleash terror on their host communities. Yet, neither (President Muhammadu) Buhari nor (DSS head Lawal) Daura has condemned them even for once.”
